In 2004 Global Deejays was born. The brothers DJ Taylor and DJ Flow were on top of the charts worldwide with their first single “The Sound Of San Francisco”. Since then several other chart hits like “Flashdance”, “Get Up (feat. Technotronic)” and “Everybody´s Free” followed, honoured with numerous awards like the MTV, NRJ Award. With their recent releases “Hardcore Vibes” and “Kids” and after collabourations with big names like Ida Corr and Chris Willis, Global Deejays are now an essential part in the international DJ & producer scene.

1. What is the best part about being a producer?
- Actually our hobby became our profession. One of the best things that happened in our lives. We’re having a lot of fun and we’re working together with great people. Every production is a new challenge even if it’s driving us crazy sometimes in order to get the desired result.

2. How did it all start for you?
- As our parents were working as professional musicians in classic orchestras, music has always been an important part of out lives. Playing instruments and composing is Flow´s passion while Konrad has always been more into Djing and experimenting with the technical aspects of electronic music. Already many years ago we were lucky enough to produce a hit and get the financial opportunity to focus on music on a professional basis.

3. What would you be doing now if it wasn't for music?
- That’s hard to say. Konrad would be working in a technical job, as he has that kind of education while Flow … well, he’d probably be a bum ;)

4. Is talent, hard work, or the connections you make the most important factor for being successful?
- We believe that it’s a mix of all three of those components that must work together. Just having talent will most probably not get you anywhere. Sad but true.

5. When do you usually make music?
- Many of our colleagues are working during night time but - apart from some „creative late night studio sessions“ - we rather stick to our normal 14 hour working days. But in a way it never stops. Often you get up in the morning with a tune in your head that you were working on the day before, and sometimes you get some great ideas on the way to a gig or even in the green room before the show.

6. What is your favorite synthesizer? Which one do you use most in your productions?
Sylenth, NI Massive used to be our standard go-to synths while Serum and Spire are the ones we’ve been focusing on recently. Especially Serum is very complex and we’re still working on fully understanding it but its’ sound is just amazing! We’re also still using some analogue keyboards like the Juno 60 and the JP8000.

7. Do you work on mastering/mixing by yourself? Favorite Compressor/ Limiter/Maximizer ?
- There’s a great mastering engineer in London who we usually send our pre-masters for the final tweaks. It has rather psychological reasons though because after weeks of working on the same track you’re loosing the ability to listen to it in an objective way. Luckily most of the times there’s just marginal differences to our masters though.
Limiters: Sonnox Limiter, AOM Invisible Limiter, UAD Maximizer, UAD Studer & Ampex, Fabfilter Pro-L & Saturn, Pro Audio Dsp Dynamic Spectrum Mapper V2, Quick Quack UpStereo Pro, Cableguys Waveshaper and we’re still using our old hardware SPL Charisma on quite a lot of channels and the Tubetech multiband compressor in the mixbus.

8. What was the best reaction you've gotten when a fan got to meet you?
- It was not the best but definitely the funniest „reaction“ when a girl pissed her pants while jumping next to the Dj booth. She seemed to be everything but sober though ;)

9. How did you discover Vandalism?
- Long time ago by googling fresh presets for Sylenth. We are one of your very early facebook friends!

10. What makes you choose Vandalism over other competitors?
- We have quite a lot of sounds and are always searching for new ones. Vandalism surely is among the best providers on the market and the first address to check.
